What does the Bible mean when it says a household believed, and what credit do believing parents deserve when their child comes to faith?
 
In this episode of Beyond the Notes, Pastor Russell Howard follows up on questions that came in after his Sunday message on the parables of the treasure hidden in a field and the pearl of great price. He works through the four household passages in Acts, including the account of the Philippian jailer in Acts 16:31-33, and applies a foundational principle of biblical interpretation: clear Scripture must interpret less clear Scripture. That leads him to Ezekiel 18, a chapter that addresses the question of inherited righteousness and inherited guilt directly. He traces the chapter's three-generation argument and closes with the theological claim the chapter makes plainly.
